Performance poet, writer, and teacher, Claire Blotter, will be bringing her unique style of performance poetry with movement and body percussion to the Oakhurst area with three days of events. In addition to being a published author, Claire directs ritual, guerilla, and community theater, and teaches poetry writing and performance to elementary, middle, and high school students.

She will kick off her residency on Thursday July 18th at 3:00pm with an interview on Art Attack with Janet Flores on KFCF 88.1 Free Speech Radio. Janet, Claire, and YGAC’s own Jon Bock will discuss art, activism, performance, and community with a focus on Claire’s visit and the weekend’s activities.

Later that evening at 6:00pm, during Oakhurst Art & Wine Hop, she will meet with the community to promote and sign her new book: “Expanding.Water.Ways.”

On Friday, July 19th, at 7pm, Claire will host “Waterway Walk & Reading” at Sierra Meadows in Ahwahnee. She will be performing from her new book, Expanding.Water.Ways., which she has adapted to fit into the unique landscape and waterways of the local Sierra Nevada foothills. $20 recommended donation can be made at https://tinyurl.com/4mj8mtac.

The next day, Saturday, July 20th, from 10am to 3pm, Claire will teach a writing workshop at Yosemite Gateway Art Center: “Diving Underwater” where participants will discover and express hidden themes, feelings, and desires through art, writing, and performance, $45 participation fee.
